I was thinking last night how great it would be to log in one day and actually read about a new treatment or cure and then soon after that we all access it and try it....

Then soon all the posts were each of us posting our successes....

Then soon after that there are like no new posts in here!

This is a reality for me because I read about FMT successes everyday. Those on the verge of sugery or higher tier medications are eliminating their pathology and going on to lead normal lives. Not just on this forum, but my local news channel did a feature on it, which I found really interesting. I do feel that what you are asking for will come very soon. I believe the method just needs to be refined (donor selection, dietary techniques, adjunct anti-inflammatories and length of treatment).

Let us hope we all see that day. It's reassuring to know others understand our uc troubles here, and we can advise others. But it'd much rather none of us had to suffer due to uc symptoms.

I really hope they find something one day. And NOT another drug with the long list of warnings and side effects. As a mother and someone who has this crappy disease in their family, I worry about my kids dealing with this one day. I consider myself cured of UC by having j pouch surgery simply because I don't have UC symptoms anymore. But I wouldn't want my kids to have to endure what I have been through that's for sure.

I feel optimistic that FMT will be a big step toward alleviating worst IBD symptoms (notice I didn't say cure).

Think of how much more productive people will become in their lives and worldwide, although most IBD is in 1st world nations. And also how much money will be saved in the healthcare system. Maybe insurance rates will go down due to elimination of a lifelong disease that requires so many meds, some of which are hugely expensive.

I read that cancer is not that expensive to a society because people die from it when compared to a incurable lifetime disease like IBD. And that Social Security actually benefits from people who smoke because they will not live long enough to put SS into deficit.

Has anyone read the latest story about an ancient medicine recently made from a very old Saxon book that kills MRSA better than anything currently used? It breaks up biofilm and uses non-proprietary ingredients. Good things are happening.
