Remicade and prednisone?

So I had my 2nd remicade infusion and of course, had bad reaction, my chest got tight, my airways were closing up...great stuff. It's four days later and my airways are still tightening if I miss even one dose of benadryl. My GI is away so I went to my PCP and she put me on 60 mg of prednisone for 5 days then a 10 mg taper for 10 days. Has anyone taken this much prednisone with remicade? I've read there are drug interactions so I'm concerned, but I need to breathe! I really hate this stupid disease.

I definitely think it is an allergic reaction. My PCP wasn't super familiar with all the side effects of remi, so I'm waiting to talk to my GI next week. I'm going to ask about switching to Humira or one of the new drugs. Even if this is just a side effect and not a true reaction, it's just not worth it if I can't breathe! I was so hopeful remi would work for me. It's such a let down.

You should be fine with remicade and prednisone. I've been on both several times since 2009.
