frustrated

Meds I have tried:

Asacol/Delzicol

Remicade

Imuran/6-mp- both cause severe vomiting within a few hours of first dose

simponi

rowasa

prednisone- doctor has cut me off

canasa - currently using

entyvio - currently using

currently flaring for about 3 weeks.  Diarrhea and bleeding.  Have lost 6-8 pounds. I don't eat much because I feel nauseous and I am trying to prevent needing to run to the restroom when out or at work.

Doctor recommends surgery.  Entyvio had started working but I started flaring just about a week before last infusion.

I'm mostly just trying to vent my frustration, but any tips, advice, or comments are always welcome :) :) :)

I feel your pain. Might be time to visit with a surgeon, just to understand the process. There is still hope for Entyvio, as it is a slow worker, and if you were quite sick when it started, it takes precious time. You can't just stop eating, you body will get weak and dehydrated- and it's still smart enough to make bloody mucus. Do eat carefully though- get dense nutritious calories when possible. The healthier you are going in to surgery, the better the outcome. going in on high doses of Pred are bad, so I'm glad you are cut off. That said, it a small dose might bridge the Entyvio gap, would they consider it? I have a love/ hate relationship with that drug.feel free to go to the Ostomy forum for Q's.

You sound like me. I wonder if uceris and some rectals might be able to get you back in the right direction. Have you had a scope to see where the inflammation is active?
