You probably don't have anything to worry about
. Unless you have a MTHFR malfunction, (mine is partially blocked), most healthy people can metabolize folic acid. The good news is that with all this publicity the vitamin companies are starting to replace their formulas to include folate instead of folic acid.
Of course the government is always lagging behind. It was known for years that folate/folic acid helps prevent birth defects but they didn't require foods to be enriched with folic acid until 1998. It will probably be decades before the government switches enrichment from folic acid to folate.
Here is one brand of B complex with folate. As an added bonus it contains vitamin B12 as methylcobalamin instead of cyanocobalamin. It would not surprise me that in the near future most supplements will follow suit.
What I don't like about
this particular brand is that it is 100 mg of the B complex while your old capsules were 50 mg. Is 100 mg too much? I dunno. Doctor's Best B complex is also 50 mg with folate but their online label did not contain the B12. But when I bought it at a retail VitaminShoppe store the label did say it contained B12. You decide.
