Does anyone know of any good GI Drs in or near Boston??? I am moving soon and looking for a new Dr...also I currently hate my dr and am in desperate need of someone better. Thanks!

Mass General Hospital has a Crohns and Colitis Center in Boston located near MGH. They have great doctors there.

Dr. J. Korzenik has been highly recommended on this forum, & a member posted about a month ago that he moved recently from MGH to Brigham/Women's. (BTW, I heard from mother of UC patient/college student there that phone contact with the MGH IBD Center is terrible!) Another IBD subspecialist gastro in Boston area is Sonia Friedman. / Old Hat (34 yrs with left-sided UC; presently in remission taking brandname Colazal)

I just had my last surgery for removal in Boston at Mass General Hospital. I highly suggest Dr. Hodin. He does surgery but I think see regular patients as well. If not I'm sure he can put you in touch with another doctor. I have been working with these guys the last year and find them to be great.

Better to find an IBD-subspecialist gastro to help get UC under control. Surgeons are for surgery! / Old Hat (34 yrs with left-sided UC; presently in remission taking brandname Colazal)

Welcome to Boston! Dr. DeSilva at Bringham and Women's. I noticed that when I am in flare or have a question, it is hard to get appointment of the doctor at B & W. I only go there for the 2nd opinion. It is easier to get appointment with a local GI, close to home. I am located in Central MA about an hour away from Boston.
