I have been meaning to post on something as well.
I have been using a new product here in Canada as a meal replacement. I used to make them, but it's a pain in the @ss, and all the ones you can buy are loaded with sugars and you get this killer sugar rush as soon as you drink them. I was wandering through the health store to get a smoothie and this guy came up to me and asked if I wanted a sample. I looked at it and said I was hesitant because I have IBD and I never know how I am going to respond. After talking for a bit it turns out he is the actual owner of the company. He said he developed it for all the same concerns I had - to be very easy to digest, to not give that sugar rush and to easily maintain weight. There was a probiotic in it which also made me hold up as I respond weird to probiotics. Sometimes they set me off. He said he included it because it has some great studies behind it (which it actually does) and he also said is it a very small amount. Which makes sense. All of my bad probiotic reactions come from larger dose probiotics - 20 billion plus type doses. I never really gave much though to this before talking with him. Anyway he seemed very genuine.
Ultimately he said he wanted to create a meal replacement that does't hide a single thing on the ingredient list. He mentioned due to labelling laws and such all other product can hide things. Which turns out to be true as well.
His product is called N8ked -
www.n8kedbrands.comHonest to god - this stuff is perfect.
As mentioned earlier I was in the hospital with strep - I had no food or drink for ~6 days. Brutal. IV antibiotics with Clarymicin (The C-fff risk antibiotic). D was intense. I had my mom bring this up to me the first day I could sort of swallow. I had two shakes that day and within 24 hours the D was cut down dramatically. 24 hours after stopping antibiotic my poop was almost normal. 48 hours it was normal. This stuff did it's job and then some.
It works out to about
5 bucks a shake. I buy both the chocolate and vanilla and mix one scoop of each with water and Almond milk. Tastes quite good.
Also with other meal replacements I notice the weight goes on your belly... so your waist get's bigger. With this it has not happened. He wasn't kidding when he said "maintain lean muscle mass" was his goal.
Anyway - that's my super product review of the year! The stuff is awesome compared to any other meal replacement out there.
I think I should make this is own post actually. I will just copy and paste. Might help some. Hopefully no one reacts bad if they try it, but my system is pretty darn sensitive to a lot of stuff... this works perfect in my system. I've been having 2 shakes a day so that's ~600 calories plus whatever I can eat.
