Kiptyn since you loose your voice I might assume you are having LPR.
It is not necessarily the acid, but the pepsin that comes up, due to a weak LES.
The pepsin digests your throat and other tissues that get exposed.
Pepsin is irreversibly deactivated at Ph around 8.
It stays in the tissues for some time and any time you eat anything acidic can activate even worse.
Melatonin can strengthen the LES, also stomach breathing as opposed to chest breathing.
Pepto and gaviscon can also deactivate pepsin.
