I have been having a flare for about 8 months. My Doc prescribed pred enemas, which I have never been on before. I have been on a 4 week course of oral steroids during this flare but I HATED them - couldn't sleep and was back where I started as soon as I stopped.
So...the enemas were helping, I did a 2 week course and then another week. As soon as I stop I am back where I started with symptoms. My Doc told me not to worry about tapering use as enemas are not absorbed in the same way as oral steroids...However I stopped a few weeks ago and since then I have been so so tired.
I have been exhausted constantly, no amount of sleep or rest alleviates this feeling of tiredness. I find the thought of doing pretty much anything stressful and cannot motivate myself to do anything outside of work. The thought sometimes of lifting my arm, shifting my position on the sofa, these things, is a struggle. I'm physically too tired. I am OK in the morning in work and until about midday. Then I start to feel tired and by about two my head is fuzzy, I can't concentrate and I am making mistakes.
I have been wondering why, why am I so tired all the time? And then I wondered if it has anything to do with abruptly stopping the steroid enemas. I googled and this seems to be a thing....I was wondering though what people have experienced...
Thank you :)
