Hey all,
I've read through all the long threads on FMT's and everyone's techniques and results. There's a lot about protocol and celebrating success (which is great), but not a lot detail about the post-transplant experience. I'm curious what others have experienced directly after or days after doing these transplants. I am on day 3 of doing nightly fecal transplants using my niece's poo and I'm feeling tired, my side is slightly achy, and I'm going to the bathroom once every 24 hrs or so. Saw a little blood on a slightly misshapen solid stool after the first day. My left side feels very tender right now. Not so much painful, but I can sense something is going on over there.
Leading up to the FMT I would go about two times a day with formed poop but not a perfect shape. Every couple of days some sparse blood would be on the stool, never on the toilet paper. Doing this procedure was a last effort to get rid of the bleeding before possibly trying out the heavier drugs like Remicade, etc. I have currently been using Nopal juice and diet plus some supplement recommendations from a naturopath to aid in my healing. It's been slow but I just want the bleeding, slightly weird stools, and slight pain in my left side to stop.
Anyway, that's my background. I'm curious what others experienced in the first days of doing the transplants and if things got better quickly or gradually. I know everyone is different and I don't expect to experience the same thing. I'm just needing a little encouragement at this point and also just curious about the details of everyone's experience while waiting for things to kick in.
