No, this is not an idea for a new TV game show, it is an issue I would like help with.
I was wondering if anyone has had a similar experience as me. A couple months back, I had a perianal abscess incised. Everything seemed to go OK and I followed up with my colorectal surgeon several times. A few days after surgery, I started feeling an odd feeling in my right buttcheek. It is not always noticeable, but I notice it when I sit on certain surfaces or when I am working hard and bending and squatting down a lot. It is not painful, more of a dull feeling like someone is just pushing on my butt muscle with their finger. It does not feel like it is in the rectum but more in the muscle. Any ideas on what this could be? I asked my surgeon about
it but he did not seem concerned and did not really answer my question. He looked around via rectoscope and did not see any signs of a fistula. He said something about
hemorrhoids and a pocket of some sort but I did not understand what he was talking about
and it sounded like he was just guessing. It actually seems to be feeling better this week but I still would like to figure out what it is.

Sorry, I've been away from the computer for a couple days. How long between recurrence, UB? This new feeling is not in the same area as the first abscess, was that the case for you? I feel your pain with not being able to walk, I dropped the pen while I was filling out paperwork in the surgeon's office and had to ask for another one. There was no way I was bending down to pick it up LOL. When you say you used olive oil do you mean at the original incision area?
What is WOO? Is that an early morning chant to psyche yourself up for a buttpain free day? If so, I'm gonna try that.

I understand it's not the same pain as the abscess. There's no mistaking the pain of an abscess! This is a dull but painful ache I guess. I couldn't sit or stand the first time I went into the chiro's office. But after he adjusted and palpitated the "sacrofuberous ligament" I was able to walk out. I continued with his adjustments of the sacrum and coccyx twice a week for about
6 weeks and lessened the treatment. He's actually writing up my case in a medical journal. If you have someone in your household, ask them to stand on your butt cheek as I did. You may find relief.
As far as the abscess, it came back exactly 6 weeks following the surgery. (I did not have a fistula).
Instead of going through that process again I used Wild Oregano Oil and olive oil to get rid of it. I used my protofoam enema tube, put about
a tsp of olive oil, and 2 drops of WOO and shoved it up my butt. You may chant while doing it:) Beware, it is painful!! WOO burns. Burn baby burn. I usually just got into a hot bath directly after. I also added WOO directly to the proctofoam itself and used that. I think 5 days after doing this the abscess burst on its own. I told the surgeon what I did and while she didn't scoff at the herbal way of doing things she didn't seem keen to learn more about
it.
Hope this helps. I'd absolutely try the chiro for the aching butt cheek thing.

I will definitely try the WOO before another incision. I may even yell "WOO!" if it burns. I guess my question is how does the chiro's working the area fix it? Is it an issue with the nerves or the muscles or did he massage out the remaining fluid in there?

My understanding is that you have 2 issues...like I did.
first was the peri-anal abscess, 2nd, the dull butt cheek pain. I have no idea if the 2 are related but it's interesting that you seem to experience what I had earlier this year.
The abscess can be treated with WOO---don't forget to dilute very well.....
the butt cheek (if it's the same as me, with the chiro. He palpated the "sacrotuberous ligament, sacrum and coccyx. I think it's all muscle. If it was nerve, the pain likely would have radiated down my legs.

Ok I was just making sure I understood...it does feel like the muscle. I'm hoping no more abscess. Thanks so much for the advice.
