I'm pretty convinced that when I stop eating - symptoms calm down. This is the second time it happened. Why?
The only symptom I suffer from right now is bleeding. When I go back eating bleeding pops out to say hello...
Congratulations, you may have discovered on your own what might be closely related to what is known as the
elemental diet. It is commonly given to severe Crohn's patients who require hospitalization. In more severe cases it is the use of a gastric feeding tube or intravenous feeding, of liquid nutrients in an easily assimilated form.
It can be an effective non-toxic alternative to corticosteroids. It consists of all the essential nutrients with protein provided as predigested or isolated amino acids. Of course it isn't a long term solution and relapse is common when patients resume normal eating.
A more long term solution might be the
elimination diet that is the conventional treatment for common allergies. I don't follow the true elimination diet but keep a food diary that seems to work for me. Start out with something that you know is safe such as chicken broth or apple sauce. Then add one food at a time to determine if they are safe to eat.
Everyone is different but you can check our signatures to see what works for us.
