Looking for advice, really worried about this

So to start, i was diagnosed with UC about 3 1/2 years ago. Since then its been a bit of a roller coaster with how it behaved, i was taking Asacol HD 800mg 3 Tabs/ Twice Daily, And doing Enemas for bleeding. Anyways, around March of this year, it seemed to go into remission? Very very slight bleeding, full healthy looking stools, anyway around June My stools have been very very very soft, and have little red flakes in them. I cant get into a GI until December 15th and am worried about things like, parasites or malabsorbtion. I usually go 3 days with nothing, just random abdominal pain, then when i actually pass a stool, i go a lot in one day, sometimes 6-7 little "strips" in one go, they look very watery, not so much diahrea, but so soft they pretty much build up in my rectum until enough come through to push it out. And also the red leathery looking things, i can only assume may be bits of my Asacol? I Dont eat anything red ever, so i have no idea.

I apologize if my post was all over the place, this is the first time ive gone on a public forum, hopefully looking for someone who experience or is experiencing something similar, any advice or help is much appreciated, thanks.

The little red flakes are likely pieces of the Asacol shells. Sometimes the whole shell can be seen.

I asked my GIs (regular and 2nd opinion GI) about soft, but formed stools and they both said the same thing -- frequency, bleeding, diarrhea & urgency and the most primary indicators of a flare. As long as the stools are formed, I don't worry about the "softness" as that seems to vary with diet -- if I eat a lot of high fiber foods stool is softer than when I have a day with very minimal fiber.

On average how many BMs do you have each day?

I don't think I would worry about parasites or malabsorption, but you could discuss with your dr.

Are you still on 6 Asacol HD/day plus the enemas? What is your diet like? Some foods can affect symptoms in some people. For others, diet isn't a factor at all. It's very individual but something to take a look at.

Another thing my drs both said -- that I need to stop analyzing every BM. They don't have to be "perfect" poos every day. If I start feeling off then I can check, but as long as I am feeling well and having 1-2 BMs/day with no other symptoms there's no need to keep checking. Not looking after I go is a hard habit to break, but I am working on it.

2 months before getting to your GI doc?
That's a bit of a wait - does the office know your symptoms are increasing?
If my doc can't squeeze me in - we have a phone consult and adjust meds accordingly - before symptoms get too out of control
