Can I get a flu shot while on Lialda?

Anthem Insurance not covering Delzicol starting 2016. Worked moderately well. Shire, manufacturer of Lialda will give free meds, however, had terrible arthritis pain and major hair loss with Lialda. Really have no choice, financially, but to go back to Lialda. Also, am on Delzicol and 5mg Prednisone per day. Can I get flu shot?

If delzicol is excluded I'm sure AsacolHD is as well - same brand. Delzicol is the repatented AsacolHD which was repatented from Asacol who knows if there was more before this!! You see this is the nasty little process the pharmaceutical company does to get new patents and keep the drug prices inflated. Can't blame the insurance companies from dropping coverage on the drug. It's all about exhorbinent profits for both these industries at the cost of our health.

If you're unaware of the repatents ... the original Asacol was a 400mg coated tablet - AsacolHD came out as a new patent (same as Asacol except twice the dose - 800mg) and now the new delzicol patent which is no more than the original 400mg tablet inserted into a capsule (you can actually remove the capsule - it's useless!)
