Hi everyone, I have been doing pretty well lately but last week I got a little lax with deadlines looming and didn't take my usual green tea extract for 4 days. By the 5th day, I had horrible gas. (this is how flares usually start with me.)
Someone earlier had suggested that green tea is a natural tnf inhibitor. I actually think it might be more than that. I was reading a few research articles about Green Tea reducing sulfurs.

This might be the reason why my flares start with horrible gas. My understanding is that Hydrogen sulphide is needed in some degree but too much can cause cell damage.
I also tend to be very sensitive to foods high in sulfur and I think this may have been part of my problem getting flares under control. (I still struggle with giving up coffee.)
Anyway, I just thought I would pass this along in case anyone else has gas issues and sensitivity to sulfur containing foods. btw, I am not saying Green Tea put me in remission. I actually am going to give far more credit to the remicade for that one. But I do think I needed a little something extra because remicade was never able to keep me in remission.
