Question for those that have used Butyrate?

I know there are some on here who have used oral butyrate or the enemas. Question did any of you have rather severe D at first? I took my first dose today with lunch and my lunch went right thru me! What was weird is both times I went to the bathroom it smelled exactly like the butyrate capsules.

I have also been following an anti-yeast diet as I suspect a yeast overgrowth since surgery. That's how I stumbled on butyrate because it can help kill yeast. Just wonder if this was coincidence, yeast die off, or a normal reaction? And how long it might last?

Ewa out of curiosity are you using cal/mag butyrate or sodium butyrate?

Yes! The first night I put a couple of sodium butryate capsules in my Rowasa and the next morning was rough, pure liquid at least to start with. After a few days when I could conclusively link the two I decided to just start taking it orally. Even at that, it still loosens things up, and I can only take about two capsules per day without too much impact.

i'm using debutir that's sodium butyrate :)
