Anxious for first colonoscopy..ducolax and picosalax

After reading quite a few forums about what everyone does with their preps i have become quite anxious with the set of instructions my GI has provided me. I have a morning procedure this wednesday.

It says i need to take three ducolax tabs at 3pm (Day before the procedure) and mix the picolax sachet and drink by 4pm. Does this sound right? And then the second sachet at 7pm. I just feel like its unusual to take the sachet and tablets at the exact same time??? Lots of people are saying they take their ducolax tablets a day before their prep day? Im just very nervous about taking this as its my first time getting a colonoscopy.

What were your experinces with Picosalax and ducolax if you have had any?

Hmmmm so what time would you sugget i start to take it?

i just did this combo prep except the timing was, tabs at 4:30pm and drink at 5, then day of procedure, take the tabs 3.5 hours prior and drink 3 hours prior to appt. time. I did NOT feel this was sufficient. I had delayed clearing and literally crapped my pants AFTER the procedure (thank God I was back at home). So, taking it all the day before is good. I called the office before going bc I was worried I wasn't clean enough- there were still small bits and pieces coming out. They said it was fine because the Dr. could irrigate. The dulcolax has a longer time to take effect than the sachet so they both kick in at staggered times - probably OK.

Good luck! The drink isn't so bad because it's a small quantity. I found the flavour really strong but I just chugged it and chased with water. Get the butt wipes and diaper cream and use liberally, before it starts to hurt- don't wait until you hurt because its too late.

Thank you all so much for your replies. Prep day tomorrow! Looking foward to starting the prep so im not dreading doing it. I think the only reason why I am anxious is the fear of the unknowen and reading endless horror stories of peoples experiences with colonoscopies amd the prep, blah blah! Im sure it wont be that bad! I will post how it all goes after the procedure.
