I am 19 and fearful I have ms. I have had dizziness and balance issues for awhile that wax and wane. I would like to just blame this on colitis versus going to another doctor to be told I may have another autoimmune disease.
Does anyone have any insight on what this might be?

I get dizzy too
I think it is from improper hydration, low blood pressure and anemia
you could have any of those issues or something else
hoepfully its not MS
but speak to your doctor and let 'em know that you are feeling this way

I've had dizziness since 2011 when my disease got severe. I had a brain MRI which was totally normal and my doctor did bloodwork to test for other AI diseases. I've just come to the conclusion that it's from low blood pressure, electrolyte imbalance and anemia.
It's just my new normal so it doesn't concern me too much. I have to hold on to the wall when I walk if I was sitting or laying down. I also noticed that heat makes it worse so showering and taking hot baths always trigger me to get dizzy or fall over.

Imuran definitely affects me with dizziness. my head feels like it's going to explode when I take the mylan brand of Imuran. I just hate it. makes me nauseous, too. I can only take Roxanne or zydus brands of Imuran.

Are you on prednisone? I got dizzy on it too.
I had a bad vertigo attack about
a year ago. I've been dealing with vertigo and hearing loss since. The doctor couldn't tell me why.

Yep, I'm always dizzy but significantly worse when flaring.

Try a sublinguinal B-12 supplement. My vertigo/dizziness of many years disappeared with B-vitamin injections, but I have the MTHFR gene, so I have a problem metabolizing B vitamins and folate. Approximately 40% of the population has this aberration; it's still free for UC'ers to get their genetic imprint from 23andme. Way worth it and maybe helpful for future research of IBD.
