My husband is slowly getting a bit better,gaining some weight and eating everything in sight. He is on Lialda2x daily and enema every other night. Although the he is not going as much as before he is still going quite frequently. Wondering how long the frequency lasts? This is our first go around with UC, started Dec 20.

He should take greater care with what he eats until he is fully in remission or else the healing will be slow. He should also go on Enema's every night and taper down slowly if he is in a flare and going to the bathroom more than 5 times a day. Is he bleeding too? If not then that's slightly different.

Glad he's improving. Most start seeing improvements in 3-4 weeks when the treatment is right. I'd stay the course, it appears to be working, give it a few more weeks.

If he stops improving, then contact your gastroenterologist asap. Ask about 4 lialda a day and daily enema in that case.

Good luck, and be patient. Internal healing is a very slow process. Just look for week-by-week improvement.
