How do we treat them. I have pain in butt when lying down and sitting down but completely fine walking and standing. I'd say it's mascular but I still get a stinging anus after BM's. Not to mention the mucus tinged with blood every 3 days.

Quincy is right. Blood can pool up from a previous BM. One thing I don't have is loose stools. My stools are completely normal.

I guess I need a Colorectal Surgeon?

Anyone else suffered these?

I've suffered from hemmroid pain as well as tail bone pain due to different reasons. The inflatable donut can be your friend. :)

Update to Quincy and and all of my wonderful folks on here.

I have been taking Steroid Cream for Haemmorhoids and without blood, Mucus etc for nearly a week. Thank God. However, in the last 24 hours the soreness is coming back. I have 2 to 3 BM's a day.

I think the Hemmies are there but my gut feeling is that the pain is from Proctitis. That's why the anal cream works to lower inflammation right at the last inch of anal canal.

So probably don't need a Sigmoidoscopy but am wondering how to deal with the Proctitis or just use a course of Steroid Supps. I've never been on steroids of that level before.

Maybe try Mesalazine supps for 2 months? Or concede that's it's the Hemmies as Hemmie steroids always seem to stop the mild specs of blood. Any advice?

Things are great right now thank God. I'll do the supps as I ease of the steroid cream. I'm putting the steroid right in the entrance of my anal canal so I doubt it's making a huge difference on the colon. The amount of steroid is also minimal. I think it's the Hemmies but will do Mesalazine supps as I ease off. The scope started all this pain so won't do that unless I have urgency, D and loose stools together.

I wanted to update you on my symptoms now that I have had one week using HC PRAMOXINE 2.5-1% Cream 3 times a day.

My symptoms were anal soreness, light mucus every few days and light specs of blood on the stool. No Diarrhea or abdominal pain.

- 24 Hours after using this cream the light specs of blood on stool stopped, the mucus stopped.
- Now 1 week after using this cream, the anal soreness has significantly subsided.
- I have 2 completely normal bowel movements a day.

The issue seems to be in the anal area, be that Hemmorhoids or Proctitis I am not sure. I have one more week left on this cream, and then I will start to taper off of it and let you know how things are in future. Not sure what you think; but it certainly doesn’t seem like a right sided colon issue, or sigmoid at this stage.

Will review whether to take the supps; they've made me worse in the past.

Fiber every day and it's a God send. What's Analpram? Is it for Colitis too? I'm wondering why I need Mesalazine supps if I'm doing well?

Yeah thanks great advice. I'll try Hemmie cream plus Asacol supps both without HC and see how I go once this course is over. But first I'll use Hemmie meds on their own. Good idea?

So I've had a strange 24 hours. I ate pizza (a big no no for me) and had an upset tummy for 24 hours with food particles in stools. There was no D or urgency but I went 4 times yesterday rather than 2.

This morning the stools returned to complete normality and I am feeling normal again but noticed a streak of blood on the end of my last stool. The rest were completely normal.

Does this mean the HC Hemmies Ointment are no longer working? Or that the Hemmies have relapsed? This is the first incidence in 2 weeks since I started the ointment.

My other experiment was I reduced Pentasa from 4.5g to 3g a day 2 weeks ago and it made no difference to stools, urgency or blood. As a matter of fact I've had the best 2 weeks in a long time.

Food particles in stool are normal.

Did you just drop the Pentasa or taper?

Don't know what the bleeding means since it's here and there...was there any blood on the tp?

The course of 2 weeks on the HC cream is now over, and I can happily reporting that symptoms disappeared in that time. I went from bleeding every day in 50% of my normal bowel movements, to having just the one episode in 2 weeks!

So no pain, no soreness, no bleeding on taking this internal Haemorrhoid HC cream.

It's obvious that the issue is in the anal area. I am now tapering off the cream slowly, and but using normal non Preparation H Parafin makes me feel horrible down there.

Does anybody know any other Hemmie creams which are white cream?

It is still unclear if it's Proctitis or Haemorrhoids. What do you think?

I mean Kroger Hemorhoid Ointment. It looks like Vaseline. I need to find one that's white creamy rather than thick grey stuff.

Anyway here is what my GI sent me today.

Based on the information provided in your diary, your symptoms are most consistent with being from the hemorrhoids. I would not recommend self-adjustment or manipulating doses of multiple medications simultaneously (e.g. using hemorrhoidal cream while also simultaneously decreasing Pentasa within the same 1-2 weeks) -- because it "may" then be difficult to say with certainty which intervention is helping or hurting the situation.

Nevertheless, in this case the symptoms indeed sound most likely anorectal from hemorrhoids or another benign source. I would not be overly concerned about minor red bleeding. If anorectal/hemorrhoids persist/recur, I would recommend evaluation with a Colorectal specialist, as previously stated.

LondonRed, sounds like you've gotten the reassurance and answer you needed. It was hemorrhoids causing that blood and not uc. Your uc is absolutely fine! I'm sure it's a big relief as I know you've been worried about a flare. Glad the steroids are taking the bleeding.
