Flare? But no blood?

Hi everyone, I was diagnosed with UC three years ago, been on Remicade successfully a year and a half, but all of a sudden I have severe abdominal and back pain. I had this pain last time i was in a flare and the doc said I was "knocking on surgeries door". I have no other other symptoms though. No blood, no diarrhea. My question is has anyone been in a flare with no other symptoms but pain?

Are you having excessive gas as well as maybe constipation type discomfort?

I've gone through phases where food changes or excess has led to discomfort, but not to back pain.

If you're female, it could be ovulation.

You could ask the doc to add rectal meds at this point to hopefully deal with possibly/probably low level inflammation. Could be a good thing to your med regimen.

Any other changes in your symptoms other than the pain? Bms any more frequent, loose, or show signs of blood or mucus? How many times are you pooping?

Pain can be from gas. It can be from a flare, but generally other symptoms go with it. Could be unrelated to uc. Joint pain is a common extra-intestinal compliant.
