Sliding video ads are now gone

I wanted to let our many users who post through their Windows pcs know that the video sliding ads have been officially disabled (confirmed by the healingwell site owner & his advertising company). A number of you have reached out to me in the past regarding your frustration with these ads, difficulty posting, etc. It took longer than expected and multiple requests to get them disabled.

So, if you have installed an ad blocker then it should no longer be necessary as the most annoying ads are now gone. Afterall healingwell is ad-supported, and letting those unobtrusive rectangular ad images display (they're pretty easy to ignore anyways) keeps the lights on.

There is a new ad that if you move your cursor near it pops out. Omnipod. I haven't seen any other ad like this in the past couple of months. It's not a video ad but almost as annoying.

The only reason I see the ad is because I unblocked (whitelisted) HW from my adblocker.

Ok, as long as they are doing what they are supposed to. I find them a little too intrusive for web viewing.
