I need some help to think about bacteria/parasites (antibiotics)

Hi,

I would really appreciate if someone can help me think. I have lived with UC since the eighties and is far away from healthy. I have some questions about drugs but maybe more for a person with knowledge in biochemistry or similar.

For me the only drugs that work is in the antibiotic area. The UC range of drugs does not work or make me worse. I have lived on Metronidazol (Flagyl) for some years ago now. I was free of symptoms in about ten years with the use of Flagyl. Then it stopped working. I have retried the drug with no effect, a couple of times after then.

In some way it must be possible to backtrack this.

What I know so far...

- Near every kind of antibiotics works on me. Mostly broad-spectrum antibiotics, even as eardrops.
- After one/two days I starts to be symptom free if I use antibiotics.
- Metronidazol works a little bit different that other antibiotics. I am not an expert but for example does Flagyl interact on anaerobic bacteria and protozoa.
- The bacteria/parasite is probably resistant to Flagyl
- Have also done stool tests. But to do that, you need to know what to look for. That is hard.

If I can try to find out if I have troubles with some kind of bacteria or parasites infection, that would be a step in the right direction. To me, it sounds like that. It would be impossible to find the exactly matching organism, but maybe the right type or category.

What do you think here. Is it possible to get anywhere with this information I have so far?

And you're sure you have UC?

My son-in-law traveled to Asia many years ago.
(At least that's what he tracked it to.)

When he goes off antibiotics, he has diarrhea and other issues before long.

imo, these are more examples of a condition with UC like symptoms, but not UC - in my case, avoiding grains keeps my UC like symptoms away - do I really have UC ? not in my opinion - just something that mimics UC -

i may even have some bacterial/parasitic component - probably should start looking, but as you said, it's quite an exploration into the vast unknown -

There are some "natural" antibiotics including clay/clay water, oil of oregano. Some oils have antibiotic properties but not sure you could take enough of them to make a difference.

Do a google search "clay+NIH" and you will find research papers.

I'm sorry your solution quit working for you.
Have you thought about fecal transplant? It's DIY in the US unless you have C. difficile but people have reported getting better and some achieve remission.

I am not newly diagnosed, so to say. But yes, have thought about this too. What is UC? Does anyone know? We can say that I have "blood from colon". But if it is UC, not sure.

Have never been in Asia, so the only way is that my parents should have picked something up before I was born.

Have not really tried oregano oil. I am more into finding the reason. Yes, call me stupid but I think the treatment is behind the corner, and probably a very simple one. It is just hard or near impossible to find the way to it.

When I think about it, I actually had some progress with humic acid some years ago. Humic acid can kill mycobacteria. And if I combine a search with mycobacteria and Flagyl I find some interesting results. This can lead me forward... stay tuned :)

Have you seen the Crohn's might be an infectious disease hypothesis? Some form of MAP bacteria(similar to tuberculosis) that's very similar to Jones disease in cattle. It's immune system resistant and antibiotic resistant. Qu Biologics is developed and running clinical trials on a MAP vaccine. Interesting stuff...

Do a search for pathogenkiller" in this forum. I dodnt know how to post that link . She documented her findings and remedies.
All I do remember is she figured out her parasite and then used herbal remedies , adjusted her diet and life style , used 23 & me and genetic gene to fix metabolism and finally she claimed she solved her issues. She is no longer posting here. Out enjoying her life.
It is a very informative well documented thread if I remember correctly.
