Prednisone and weight

So I'm back on prednisone for a postpartum flare. My baby is 4 weeks old and I'm DESPERATE to start losing my baby weight. It's bad enough I can't breasfteed anymore because I'm on a high dose (40mg). Anyways any suggestions how I can lose weight or atleast maintain and avoid Gaining weight during this taper ??? I'm short and small stature so every pound shows on me. And I'm already 20 lb in the hole from this very recent pregnancy.

Prednisone causes weight gain, water retention and increased appetite. I don't think it's possible for you to loose weight while on prednisone. I'd wait until you're done with your course of prednisone before starting a weight loss regiment.
