I asked for a cortisteriod suppository and was given Canasa... Is that right?

Nope canasa isn't a corticosteroid. Rather, Canasa is a type of anti-inflammatory mesalamine medication (like asacol, lialda, apriso, or rowasa).

I'd assume a generic would be a hydrocortisone or budesonide suppository, brand names are Anucort-HC, Anusol-HC. I've never taken them, myself, so I'm not 100 percent certain on these names. I'd ask your pharmacist.

Colocort is a brand name for a hydrocortisone enema.
