colonoscopy on monday

Going in for colonoscopy Monday.Have had UC for 31 yrs[im 57],have had scopes most years[except last 6-7 yrs] since 1997 when i got health benefits. Usually stool goes back to normal after small or moderate flare,this time stool is staying small most of time.Dr thinks colon could have a lot of scaring due to flares over last 31 yrs which is preventing colon from working properly.Will find out whats going on inside me on Monday.Drinking the champagne tomorrow [worst part of it all]

Nana the Cortenemas and Rowasa are keeping my rectum from being inflamed,if i stop either i will see blood traces after a few days.Not sure what state my rectum/colon is in.Will find out more tomorrow.I dread not eating and drinking the poision today then i dread tomorrow.Im 6'5-230 and i like to eat.Its only 1 day,hope all goes well.Thanks and may God watch over us who have this tough disease

Well drank the poison yesterday,6oz with water at 4:00 yesterday afternoon then again at 4 this morning.All went well with that.Dr said i have a 31yo scared colon[im 57-colitis for 31 yrs].He recommended Humira or Remicade and others.I said to him that not having a Spleen lowers my immunity then taking one of these meds could kill me as far as Pnuemonia etc.He agreed,i told him i would prob want to have colon removed instead of biologics.He said lets see what biopsies look like and to see if theres any displacia in cells.Will find out next week about results

I am surprised that he suggested biologics when there is so much scaring. If it is inflamation then biologics are fine but biologics create scaring by healing too fast as I understand. May be you want to ask your doctor. I may be wrong.
