Thanks very much for your advice, perspectives and warnings guys!
That was definitely not fun, I was bed bound with nausea, headache, fatigue etc and doing lots of loose stools with mucous. The 'general unwellness' symptoms may have been stress, dehydration and sleep related and exacerbated by colitis symptoms. My concern was things getting worse, which I think would have absolutely been possible and which was flagged up by a few on here. Pretty astoundingly though, although it's early days to tell too much, over the last couple of days things seem to have dramatically improved. Today I went without urgency, it was slow moving and looking so much better. Quite the change (although there's still a way to go) ... I assume that absolutely has to be the Remicade right? I have also been eating very differently the last couple of days (sticking to stuff like rice, cooked vegetables, fish, toast etc) in order to try to minimize symptoms, but that can't achieve fast changes in stool frequency and consistency can it? I haven't tried any other oral drugs or enemas. If it is the Remicade then I guess that's really good news ... and I hope it continues. I'm feeling way better generally too, I feel like I'm myself again. I know you have to live in the present moment with chronic illness and enjoy the success whilst it lasts.
What do you guys think - just to double check, that's definitely the Remicade right? To what degree could diet be helping? Also I assume what happened was a flare up caused by perhaps coming off the steroids a bit suddenly, environmental factors (I came out of hospital which was quite disorienting), feeling stress / anxiety and eating a lot of different stuff the days before... which is being healed up by the drug? Is that fair to assume?
