My ulcerative colitis was diagnosed in December 2007. After trying most of the treatment options to no avail my doctor recommended I begin Remicade infusions as well as stay on Imuran. I now take 50 miligrams of Imuran daily and Remicade infusions every 8 weeks. I have completed 57 infusions of Remicade and have not experienced any known adverse affects. I now find that I have coronary artery blockage in one artery that was fixed with a stent this week. It does not appear that there is a relationship between the two issues but wonder if anyone else has experienced the same set of circumstances.

How old are you? But I've been on Remicade for 5 years with no such issues. But it might be one of those things that can happen even without Remicade. Not everything can be blamed on our meds or UC, sometimes it is what it is.

How did you find out about the blockage?

No problems here with that either. It's not an association with remicade that I'm aware of. I'd say it's unlikely to be associated with the med.

I am 72 yrs old and suspect that the blockage was related to age rather than Remicade or UC. Regardless I have had 8 years of remission since going on Remicade and would not change a thing.
