Hi all
I've asked my MD for a referral to a new specialist since I'm very unhappy with mine ignoring my need for treatment sooner. I live in Milton Ontario, wondering if anyone can recommend docs in Oakville, Burlington, Mississauga etc.
Thanks

I'm not in your area, but here are some links that might help from our resources thread:

A lot of the reviews are so mixed... I had a few names mentioned to me by a GI nurse who's a patient of mine... And some reviews are glowing and some are terrible. I worry about
seeing a new doc who's the same at ignoring me 😔

My GI's in Toronto. Unsure that helps you. I had to interview several before I found a match to my personality, skills, ability to think outside the box etc.

Wow. Did you have to keep getting referral after referral til you found one? Or get a whole bunch at once? My issue is I'm suffering NOW and I feel like the current doc is not helping me get where I need to be. The thought of a long process to get a new doc and maybe waiting that long for relief... Man I'm struggling. Whereabout
s in Toronto? I don't mind a drive for a doc at this point but being stuck in traffic on the way there is of course anxiety inducing.

Yes. Referral after referral over a period of years. But this final GI was recommended by a friend. He's pretty awesome but likely very far for you to come. He's at College/ Spadina. His only "fault" is that he's always behind....by at least 1-2 hrs, but he'll take his time with you. Scopes/colonoscopies done in a private clinic upstairs. It's definitely more civilized than a hospital!
You may want to find someone closer to home with hospital privileges, if things are bad for you. I know how difficult it is when you have this horrible disease & a doc you don't like/trust.
