FS: Thanks for the update.
Canaveral: SCD is the Specific Carbohydrate Diet, you can look it up on google.
Globe: I guess what I was referring to was this study, where the people already had CD they found the biofilm.
For UC I believe that it is bacteria penetration of the mucus barrier that
sets off the disease. The first thing that happens in DSS mouse colitis is bacterial penetration
of the mucus, then the immune system starts to kick in hours later.
The problem with human UC is are we dysbiotic at the get go, or is the mucus barrier first somehow
weakened then any bacteria might penetrate.
Up to now as far as I can find early onset UC people are not dysbiotic, but who knows for sure
if they can find everything that may be going on with dysbiosis,or say mucolytic activity of the bacteria
at early onset.

dss bacteria penetration long before infiltration of inflammatory cells
journals.plos.org/plosone/article?id=10.1371/journal.pone.0012238But I am sure this does not show the whole picture, dss disrupts a bunch of mechanisms involved
with the mucosal immune system. Then again in wild type mice, given dss colitis, after the dss
is removed the mice get better, after severe mucosal barrier destruction, perhaps because their
gut bacteria were not dysbiotic at onset. This has always been an unanswered question for me,
the mice recover and we don't.
