Maybe we should say 'repressed' immune systems. That is how they work, by suppressing your body's natural immunity. Not for me. But of course if nothing else works then you have to take them, no question about
that.
There is a show on U.S. Cable TV called
The Monsters Inside Me. It is about
parasites. I don't know how many episodes discussed various parasites, worms, fungus, bacteria, and larvae in our everyday environment that for the most part are harmless to those of us with normal immune systems, but can easily overwhelm someone with a compromised immune system.
While previous studies had already indicated the increased risk of infection and lymphoma, evidence published in 2006 in the Journal of the American Medical Association suggested that
Remicade can triple the risk of skin cancer.
Another ”black box” was issued in 2008 describing cancer occurring in children and young adults who began taking TNF blockers, such as Remicade, Humira, and Cimzia, along with immunesuppressive medicines such as 6-MP. The FDA “fixed” this problem by updating the 'Warnings' section on the drug label.

Patients on immunosuppressants are at risk of developing lymphoma, tuberculosis, kidney and liver damage, anaphylaxis, seizures, and potentially serious or fatal infections.
