Unknown source of bleeding//Ciprofloxacin

So 2 weeks ago I became very ill and was puking every hour for 24 hours. This went away after that but I still had diarea which has now go on for the 2 weeks, however last night I was experiencing lots of blood with my watery stools. So I decided to go to AE where did a number of test and even took a sample of my bloody Bm. I was surprised with how minor they were acting about it, and they told it me it is most likely to be from infectious diarrhea, and that the constant strain has caused anal fissures/ hemeroids. They prescribed me with Ciprofloxacin(500mg) X2 a day, and if the bloody BM's don't stop in the next week I will need a colonoscopy. So in short is there anything I should be doing right now and is ciprofloxacin the right drug for me. Thankyou for your time.

Yeah that's what I was worried about, as they did not find the reason for bleeding it concerned me that they could have done a mis diagnosis and put me on potentially worsening drugs for if I had colitis or other bowel diseases.
