Budesonide 9 mg to uceris 9 mg possible? Plz help me

Hey guys
Ive got pan colitis, Im on budesonide 9 mg daily but isnt working that great and wondering if you can do a straight change to 9 mg uceris and no taper from budesonide to uceris?

Please help me guys..

5 weeks now close to six one box so far.

I'd ask a doctor or pharmacist regarding can you switch without a taper.

Google says budesonide and uceris are the same thing, so why is a taper needed if you are going from one to the other. I was on 9mg oral entocort which is what budesonide is called in Canada. I stopped cold turkey and suffered no side effects. I would ask your doctor.

I think you should taper unless you had the ER budesonide. if you had regular it was being systemically absorbed and having impact on you adrenal glands. Uceris has "some" systemic absorption, but is enteric coated to release in the colon, where more topical action occurs.

you want to avoid switching "cold" from enteric to topical.

BUT, topical is usually a weaker effect than systemic. I do not expect Uceris to perform where a systemic steroid did not. But individual result vary, and I hope you have good luck
