Vsl#3 DS change?

Did VSL#3DS change the formula? The packaging changed in my most recent fill. But now that I opened it, it tastes different. I don't remember corn starch being on the Prescription version. I don't have an old package to compare. It lists ingredients as: maltose, lactic acid bacteria, cornstarch, silicon dioxide.

Are any of the other ingredients different also?

Ok another note, I saw there is a prescription discount on their website now.

My 12 months+ VSL#3 sachet ingredients are: Lactic acid bacteria, cornstarch. Nothing else.
The DS version (previously) would be the same as it is "double strength" hence the "DS".

Last year the inventor of VSL#3 started his own rival company and perhaps there was some licensing agreement between him and the VSL#3 company that made them change the ingredients. Or perhaps the current VSL#3 company made these changes on their own and he did not agree.

Maltose worries me a bit when I need to re-order since it is listed first and therefore the highest quantity ingredient.

I am taking Visbiome sachets at 450 billion over the counter. I can't handle corn starch. I was originally taking 2 VSL #3DS sachets a day for 4 years (since diagnosis) until my insurance stopped covering it.

I now take 1 or 2 (when needed) 450 billion sachets. Luckily my gut likes it (same formula as original VSL) and the lower dosage hasn't affected anything.

They do have a prescription version if Visbiome. It's the exact same formulation as VSL 3#DS was in January 2016. One of the lead creators left VSL and took his formulation but couldn't take the name VSL. Hence VSL adding corn starch to change their formulation.
