Ok being on pred my gut doesn't cramp and my poop gently comes out on it own, I don't involuntary push, I don't push, my gut does it on it's own. It does. I've tried breathing treatments, standing and pooping, laying on the floor and pooping, but I can't stop the cramps, It's been so nice lately. Honest to Gosh, I amazed. For years and I mean years like probably my whole life I always had this problem, maybe I have had crohns longer than being diagnosed. My big question is, what can I take for it every day that has minimal side effects? I just saw he peppermint oil post, I've tried that, too much acid reflux. I go see my colonrectal doc Tuesday and I was to get on something to stop the gut from binding up and being tight all the time. Thanks! If I get this to ease up, maybe I would NOT have fissures !!! Please respond and thanks to all others as well.

You can ask your doc for Bentyl or Levsin. They might help.

I use Bentylol (Bentyl) and Gravol Ginger.
I don't know what other options except opioid or synthetic marijuana type meds .
Have you been on uceris yet?

I wish I had more to offer.

Thanks , I have not had blood in three days!! Lots of pooping , but no cramps or pushing. My fissure is healing, I can sit in the tub without screaming. Asacolhd on the other hand is giving me then farts and lots of stool. I guess I will take that over blood and cramping. 6 pills a day. Max dose. I will start rectal mess when I know I can safely out something g up there

Thats good news. Are you using an external med for the fissure? Dont forget you might be able to have compounded rectals called rectal rockets 😆

Yes I have external medication, have to go lightly though, raises my blood pressure. I wonder if now I have SIBO cuz I have a TON TON TON of gas and bloating all day and all night! I went to the bathroom about 10 last nights and the other nights as well and during the day too! I dont think it's c diff, no smell, no fever, no chills, no watery diarrhea,, soft mush poop, no blood no cramps but just jkeep going and going On The hour , I have antibiotics for SIBO too. I do nt know what else it could be other than asacolhd side effects?

Have you got inflammation in the small intestine? Have you tried apriso or pentasa?

Are you on probiotics?

Are you on reflux meds?

Yes in probiotics, small amount of probiotics. So small . It's a powder I mix in with ginger tea. As I was typing this is my driveway, tried to fart, pooped my pants. No blood, no cramps, but obviously something is not right. Asacol even when my doc back I. 2009 said there were no ulcers, all clear, made me have acccidents. Maybe a yeast issue, with being on antibiotics and steroids. Sand this disease is hard to figure out!!Need rectal meds for sure . Reflux like omperzole gives me diareeah . Any others you like out there? No inflammation in small intestine according to my last scope, never had it there. Thanks again

I don't know what the test is for yeast...maybe stool samples?
Have you tried apriso ot pentasa?

The last 12 hours have been great!!! No running to the bathroom. No bloating .Dropped pred to 10mg yesterday.I will see how I do the next couple of daysat 10mg. I will keep you posted. The minute ,cramps and pushing come back ,I'm up ing my steroids and goi ng to Stelara. I can't afford anal surgery again. I will keep you posted. So far this mornings poop eased out nicely. smile thanks for writing back and keeping in touch so quickly, you're so knowledgeable. I have had this disease for 12 years and I still can't figure out much. I just thought being in pain is part of living with it, and you don't have to be!!

Hi.....you're welcome, but remember I've never been on steroids, biologics or in the situation of continual agonising symptoms as you and many others on the forum, so my experience would be considered quite limited.

What steroids are you meaning to increase?...rectal, topical oral or systemic?

Hope you continue to improve.
