Can anyone relate to bowels all wacked out

I've been trying to come out of a flare I've been flaring since the end of November. Here is where I'm at now bathroom trips down to maybe two most days one but here is my issue I'm keeping alot of bloating and gas I do relieve gas just not like I should. I'm not going to the bathroom and emptying the way I should I'm still flaring but it seems it's trying to get better as I started smoking again three days ago I just can't deal with this flare. When I have to go to the bathroom I'm not emptying the way I should I will cramping and hurt to pass stool it use to be bad cramping pain it's getting better but I'm only passing small amounts at a time in bits and pieces. It's soft solid stool so it's not like it's hard to pass from being constipated. But I feel as if I'm constipated cause I'm not passing enough stool I didn't eat nothing yesterday trying to rest my bowel and see if that will help. I did go this morning and again small amount came out but it was less blood I saw in stool. Now my stomach feels bloated from gas buildup I'm fed up with all this and my stomach isn't hard but it is bloated out but I stay that way even before flare just bloated more since flare.I'm not running no fever I've been checking and my abdomen isn't bad tender but is mildly tender. Can anyone relate to this bowel issue while having a flare

Sounds like you still have rectal inflammation from your flare, which can cause what you describe. What UC medications are you currently taking?

Rectal inflammation is best treated with rectal-route prescription meds: rowasa enema, Canasa suppositories, or mesalamine foams.

I'm not on rectal meds my inflammation is the in the rsctum this time it up high in the transverse colon that's what they told me with the x ray and CT scans last month when I was admitted to hospital. I'm on 40 mg of Prednisone that's it cause I can tell swallow that apriso I've tried too many times I gag and make myself sick trying. I have went to the bathroom again since I posted this and it was dirreah so I'm not as bloated at the moment but I'm still gassed up and feel yucky hard to explain I'm starving I have only ate scrambled eggs today. And my cramping is up high in the area they say is inflammed on my left side up high is where the gas seems to want to buildup at. I didn't see much blood today with bowel movements but for some reason I still feel tender in there alittle and just horrible.

Hi for me, Cipro and flagyl helps calm down my flares, this time I used pred with it, so in about 5 days I felt so much better!! (I was in bad shape) but these last 7 days have been great BUT today I saw some blood and now I'm back on antibiotics even if I use them every other day or just once a day, they help me. I hope you feel better. I always take a probiotic same day, spread about from my dose, knock on wood, never had c diff . Have you tried antibiotics?
