Got a simple question. How long has the J-Pouch surgery option been utilized? I'm concerned with the experience aspect the possible Surgeon may have.

Do you mean how long has it been around? They've been dong it since the early 80's. The first one may have even been late 70's. In London I believe.

If you have any specific questions, I had j pouch surgery 6 years ago. I'd be happy to help if I can.

you can post questions here, because there are a variety of circumstances leading to surgery decisioons, and some variation in post-surgery success.

I've put my story on as well, and am happy to help answer any questions. J-pouch surgery has been around for a while. As far as I understand it, the overall success rate improved quite a bit thanks to the move from hand-stitching to medical stapling.
