Dogs can get colitis, it doesn't mean it's chronic UC. Sometimes they pick up a bug, like giardia, at the park, or out walking. You need to bring stool tests to the vet to find out. My dogs have had bloody D, jelly poops, and all that stuff, many, many times, and 99% of the time, a simple course of Flagyl has provided a ton of relief. There are other options though too, depends what the stool test show. Interestingly, with dogs, Flagyl is not only indicated for a GI bug, but also for diarrhea relief. I've given my own that I got from my GI, but you need to go to the vet so you can get proper dosing information. They also give sulphasalazine sometimes. Or they give other antidiarrheals. There are a lot of options, but waiting a month to get her some help is not good. Have you tried giving her a really plain diet? Mine was having chronic symptoms until I got him on a vet diet, now he's doing great - up until a couple weeks ago when he got severe colitis, but it has since improved with a short fast, limited ingredient diet, flagyl, and time... stool test showed no parasite.
