Severe flare led to remicade. Symptoms subsided almost immediately however a allergic reaction after final uploading dose made it necessary to cease. Took nothing for a year then colposcopy showed severe inflammation with tential dysphasia. Doctor recommended entyvio, however we just got denial from insurance due to documentation by provider did not indicate that Humira failed or was inadequate. While Humira looks to have many positive responses it acts I the same manner as remicade TFN blocker while entyvio is different. Why waste time on a similar drug. Has anyone fought insurance denials?

Trying Humira next makes sense given that you had an initial response to Remicade before developing an allergic reaction to it. It means that the anti-TNF class of medication can work for you.

Given that you had an allergic reaction to Remicade, you may have a higher-than-normal chance of having an allergic reaction to Humira - but it's not guaranteed that will happen. So it's probably appropriate to try it next. If you have an allergic reaction to it, too, then it's time to move away from the ant-TNFs and into another class of medication.
