Bleeding is one of the most concerning symptoms of ulcerative colitis, but try not to worry as very little blood is actually lost. A teaspoon a day at most. With UC it's microscopic bleeding from small ulcers. A few drops mixed with water or diarrhea do look like a lot more than it really is.
Generally steroids stop the blood fast (prednisone, steroid-rectal foams, steroid enemas, and steroid suppositories are all examples). I don't know what 2 prednisone tabs means for you, as you can get 1mg, 5mg, 10mg, 20mg, and 40mg tablets from most pharmacies. What's your total daily dose?
Asacol is mesalamine. Generally, you want the maximum dose which is 4,800 mgs a day. I am sure 4 pills a day isn't that much, so ask for a dosage increase. You should be on a prescription mesalamine enema as well (also known as rowasa, pentasa, or salofalk enemas), so ask for a prescription.
How long have you been on remicade?
Have you had a stool test to look for pathogenic causes to your symptoms like c diff?
