true or false Ima > you didn't go past mesalamines on the ever popular ladder, as your drug of choice to rid your heiny of the colon crud ????

ima wondering why if you'd prefer a plate of meds in lieu of a plate of gf pasta, why did you not climb that there ladder to the holy R place ?

Well I gave 6mp a good try, that isn't a mesalamine, and Entocort and Xifaxan. But I had run out of everything else RX to try and biologics were next per my GI and I just didn't want to go there.

I even went RX-free for a year because Turmeric supplements gave me great results, equal to what Balsalazide does for my UC. But had to quit turmeric because developed bad skin infections. It is such a powerful anti-inflammatory that normal skin cuts would not heal and certain amount of inflammation is healthy to signal your body to send troops out to clean things up (my amateur diagnosis). Maybe my dose was too high (2-4 g daily), I hope more studies are done on it.

Wanting to eat pizza or pasta is not enough for me to go onto higher RX meds and the cost would make me worried too as I would not qualify for assistance and have high deductible.

edit to add--had delicious Bun dinner tonight (Vietnamese salad with rice noodles and chicken) made by moi. I do not have a boring life food-wise.

that's me too - by some standards my diet is very restricted by not eating grains, but i don't think i'm missing out on much - not sure even if i could i would go back to eating them on a regular basis - i can cheat once in a while and that's really all i need -

but once in a while i wonder if a drug came along that was proven beyond a shadow of a donut that it was side effect free and would allow me to eat ANYTHING, would i go for it ........ i dunno -

i have finally figured out tho, that i just don't do well taking rx meds - all the heart crap they tried to put me on just made me feel like sh!t - what's the point of taking a drug to make you feel better when you wind up not wanting to get up outa the chair cuz you feel so lousy ?

Maybe you guys should consider cannabis oil/RSO as a supplement if you can get your hands on it. Small doses of CBD oil allowed me to be able to consume garbage during a flare, but I soon learned that it helped to heal my inflammation rather than just mask it if I stayed on a paleo/high vegetable diet.
I don't like cheating my new diet often, but when I do- a little cannabis goes a long way to help stifle potential digestive complaints. Side effects from both psychoactive and non-psychoactive oil is sleepiness and at the most giddiness lol

I would try it in a heartbeat but live in Puritan-run Florida where even people dying have trouble getting pot but oh yeah they'll give you morphine. We talk about moving to Colorado but love where we live, sunny and warm and nice community.

UC is not on the list of diseases for legal pot here.
