Hello, just wanted to share my experience that might also help some of you.
I've been diagnosed with UC (left sided) in 2007 and have been in and out of remission. For the past 2 years, I have seen major amounts of blood in my stool. My doctor prescribed a few courses of Budesonide (pills) + Azathioprine which helped for a few weeks yet I would still find traces of blood. I was really starting to get worried when my doctor recommended that I start taking Entyvio or Remicade (which I avoided).
Three weeks ago, my doctor prescribed Budenofalk rectal foam (Budesonide) and to be honest it is a miracle worker. From day one up until this moment I did not find any traces of blood in my stool!! I am really so grateful for this medicine. Left sided colitis is always the hardest to treat and I found that this foam was very helpful! I now only have 1 BM ( formed and blood free) a day and no other symptoms!!
Only downside is that it is quite expensive and it did take me a few days to finally get the approval from the insurance.
