What does everyone use for an iron supplement?
I am really tired of going for iron infusions.
There has to be a brand or type of iron that works good.

I used plain old Ferrous Sulfate in pill form. Teeny tiny pills. I responded to it quite well and had no side effects from it. I had to take the pills just for a limited time until my numbers went up. But I wonder if you are getting infusions you might have a more serious case. I remember being told that if the pills didn't work then I might have to get infusions.

The pills never worked for me. I used the Spatone Pur-absorb iron water packets. It really worked for me when my hemo was low.

I had one iron infusion and was then prescribed an iron pill called EZFE, which I've been taking for a couple months. Not sure what my hemoglobin level is, but all my anemia symptoms have disappeared and I feel fine. Also this pill has never bothered my stomach or caused any other issues, which the doctor told me it is a good option because it doesn't tend to cause GI issues.

I use ferrous gluconate and do take it with all my vitamins in the morning about
an hour after breakfast.

I use ferrosequels 65mg tablet. Since I had my ileostomy, my hemoglobin levels have increased.

Another way to get easily digestible iron into your body is Black Strap Molasses. It provides 25% of your daily iron needs in 1 tbs and is very easily assimilated by your body. It has recovered me out of my anemia a couple times. It has a very strong taste though if you decide to try it, i mixed it in frozen pb and bananna smoothies to be able to get it down.

My doc recommended something called Feosol Bibera, with HIP and BIC. It's easier on the stomach and I've had no problems tamkngjt. I think it's something like 28 mg per pill and I take one in the am and one in the pm. I get it at CVS or any pharmacy.

I have taken ferrous sulfate tabs, Vitron C tabs, and Floradix liquid. The ferrous sulfate was hard on my stomach, so I couldn't take it when I was really sick. The Vitron C was a bit better, but the Floradix was the easiest on my stomach, and it got my hemoglobin level back to normal. I've had one GI specialist dismiss the Floradix, though, because it also has some other vitamins in it ... I don't think they are high enough levels to be concerned about
, and I think he was mainly dismissive because it wasn't one of his standard recommendation products.

Look for Spatone Liquid Iron Supplement. It is very gentle on the stomach.
