Felt a cold sore coming on, then my burning on my butt check, took a valtrex and went away

I'm telling you, there is a link with this nerve pain from my lip to my butt check ON LEFT SIDE ONLY and I have LEFT sided colitis. I felt a cold sore coming on, like a tingle in my lip, redness (no bump) a little swollen , aches and pain in my knee and hip almost like achy cold coming on, then on my left butt cheek from bottom of that to top of leg, burning and painfulness just to touch it. NO bumps, I'm guessing it's like shingles without the rash, which can happen. It happens about once a month or every other. I pop a Valtrex and everything goes away.

I always wonder is it CMV virus in my colon or is it just another thing I have. I will be getting a new GI doc and new colonoscopy in October/November maybe he will listen and take biopsy. I wonder if I have a bacteria and virus issues.
