Prep won't work - second time fail

It's been three hours for first dose of Suprep. I failed my first prep. The bowel movements started too late for my appointment.

What should I do?

I take my second dose sooner than recommended and drink only water....

I hate those preps. Last time we used Prepopik. It was wonderful.

I would add something else to get things moving. Magnesium Citrate or dulcolax perhaps? Hope you were able to get this prep done.

When's the scope scheduled for? If you're having trouble with preps than you can fast/eat clear only for a couple days prior to the scope. Not ideal...

Failed the prep, once again. Oh, well. It NEVER goes right.

Thanks for the advice. The GI did it anyway even thought it was a poor prep.

I have a really difficult time with the prep too, no matter what I do. I have failed once and had to go home with the scope not done. The next time I was not completely clear but the scope could still be done. The most recent time was like what you just reported. The GI did it anyway but she and the nurse really had to work at turning my body this way and that in order to complete it.

I'm not doing it again because I don't have another $800, which is my portion.

I was told I have to start two weeks in advance with Miralax, stool softeners and fiber. I'm too constipated for the prep to have much effect on me. I don't feel like I'm constipated. It's like my normal, but apparently I am.

So a poor prep, but the colonscopy was done anyway by another GI. My GI is not going to like the report.
