Colonoscopy tomorrow - stop taking Asacol or not?

Hi everyone,

I have a colonoscopy tomorrow so I'm on a clear liquid diet until after the procedure. I've had a colonoscopy before except that was to diagnose so I wasn't on medication.

I am now on 6x800mg Asacol every day with breakfast/lunch (whenever I wake up) however not sure if I should take it (and it's a Sunday so I can't contact the doctor)

Should I be taking it today and tomorrow morning before my procedure tomorrow afternoon? I've heard they're not fun on an empty stomach!

Makes no difference on empty stomach or not.....they arent active until the terminal ileum.

Since you are doing the clean out, dont bother with them today....start again after the scope.

What other meds are you on?

No other meds.

Finished prednisone taper a few weeks ago.

I took my meds (4 apriso capsules) the day of liquid diet because they don't bother my stomach at all. Procedure day they told me to take them after the procedure because they don't want you drinking that much water to swallow them.
