Bactrim ,generic, they gave me for bla

I used it for a long time when I had sepsis and I didn't have any symptoms while on it. I was also on pred at that time, so I am sure that was what was responsible for my lack of symptoms, but bactrim wasn't so terrible that pred wasn't ineffective - if that means anything. Eventually I tapered off the pred and I was on bactrim alone and didn't have symptoms for a while, but eventually my symptoms came back with a vengence. I think it was unrelated to the antibiotic, it was just the course of my UC, and the lack of steroids in my system at that point. I think it's probably smart for you to take something to nip your infection in the bud. Was the other one augmentin? I've never taken that but i've heard people mention it. I think you should take what's going to get the infection under control the best.

TRM, I have used Bactrim a lot over the years & never had it mess with my gut or set off diarrhea like most of the others. Last summer I was in the hospital for 3 days, one of the culprits that landed me there was a severe UTI. I had IV antibiotics & released with a script for Bactrim. Drinks lot of water while on it too. Hopefully you will tolerate it well as long as you do not have an allergy to Sulfa meds. I am thinking you posted in the crohns forum that you had started on Clindamyacin, I am assuming it was something you already had on hand. That one is a killer for me, I cannot tolerate it at all. Just shows how we are all so different on how we can tolerate medications.
