Jessica, just saw your post & wanted to comment. Are you currently on a narcotic for pain? I really couldn't decide or not with the comment about work & drug testing. Narcotics are known for causing constipation, so some have to take a stool softener. If you are not on narcotics, you may have a very difficult time getting a dr to rx them. The so called "opioid crisis" is very much a real thing. A lot of folks were referred to pain mgt drs by their dr because gi's will not give pain narcotics for IBD. Now the pain mgt drs are cutting these people off, the CDC guidelines are the reason. Stay away from any NSAID including OTC ones.
For your back issues check out the OTC pain patches that contain lidocaine, a lot of people get relief with them. These are available in drug stores & grocery stores. If you have not tried a tens unit, talk to your dr about trying one. A lot of time insurance will cover the rental on one & if you get good results, often they will buy one. I use a jacuzzie in the cooler temps, heat becomes my best friend in the cooler temps. If you have not had your vitamin D level check in awhile, get your PCP to order labs. Low vitamin D will cause fatigue & increased joint pain.
Take care.
