For me, the best thing for headaches is the thing we can't have, NASIDs. I've tried a bunch of tripthans and they have worked in varying degrees, but it's different for everyone, and the process of trying them is pretty time consuming. You should see if you can get in to see a headache specialist. I am sure there is something out there that will work for you & they will usually get you some samples so you can test. The other options might be an antidepressant, if you're not opposed to it, those were miracles for my migraines - but mine were always hormonal - and I suffer from depression so it was easier for me to accept taking a daily preventative.
