Aches on 6mp

Hi all, anyone on Mercaptopurine/6mp developed painful/aching thighs and knees? Have been on Mercaptopurine 5 months and controlling UC well and now this😡Really hurts when I get up from chair etc. Can't get IBD nurse until Tuesday and worried 😥 Thanks all xx

Do you go for regular blood testing?

How is your vitamin D, calcium, potassium, etc?

Joint pain is a side effect of that med....but ask your GI to refer you to a rheumie to check for other possibilities as well as having xrays.

We can get joint aches with and without uc medications, as an extra-intestinal manifestation of UC. Sometimes it's related to having uc, sometimes it's a second immune condition like rheumatoid arthritis. Medications can sometimes cause joint aches too. Many possibilities, see which one is yours.
