The skin on my arms is getting noticeably thinner from using prednisone. You can see all the veins, even on the top. It's only been a few years of intermittent use but it's already happening. If I bump an object I bruise easily and sometimes the skin tears open, causing bleeding. I've read that anything over 7.5mg can cause this if you're on pred long-term, and I certainly qualify.
According to reports online, it's permanent... but some people have said they recovered by taking fish oil, collagen, and a lot of vitamin C. Of course, they also stopped pred.
Has anyone experienced this condition? How long did it take before it got really bad for you? Did it ever get better on its own or with things you tried?
